Our Program
Lawson Family Farms has been in the Commercial Cattle Business since 1980 and began to transition to Registered Cattle in 2002. When we started our slow transition to the Registered Cattle Business, we had 10 breed heifers, and we currently have 200 registered cows on our farm.
We started send our bulls to test stations up in Virginia to see how they are performing; this is something we continue to do. We incorporated this into an Annual production sale that we produce each year during the first weekend of April. Our sales consist of 60 female lots and 35 bulls.
We concertation on the maternal background as the base of our herd by purchasing the top daughters out of the best cows in the Angus breed. We are the home of the most sought-after cow family: Chloe. Our donors Basin Chloe 7T26 and Lawson Chloe Z341 are the dam and great dam of Lawson Chloe C815 (now owned by Larry Coleman at Coleman Angus in MT). C815 has produced millions of dollars in cattle and is one of the most sought-after donors in the US.
